Dr. Stephen Paget is an internationally recognized rheumatologist, and was the Physician-in-Chief and Chairman of the Division of Rheumatology at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS). He is now the Physician-in-Chief Emeritus at HSS. With over 35 years of experience, Dr. Paget’s research focused mainly in the areas of lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, systemic vasculitis (inflammation of blood vessel walls), and premature atherosclerosis. He has received numerous honors and held positions on the board of directors for the American Board of Internal Medicine, American College of Rheumatology, and the New York Arthritis Foundation. He is currently the Director of the HSS Rheumatology Academy of Medical Educators.
